Architecture Alumni Receive Awards at State AIA Conventions
Two UNC Charlotte architecture alumni, Miyuki Tsujimura, AIA (Bachelor of Architecture, 2013) and Chuck Travis, FAIA (B.A. in Architecture, 1982) were honored this fall at state conventions of the Americans Institute of Architects (AIA).
Tsujimara received the Associate Member Individual Honor Award at the 2017 AIA Florida Convention in Naples. Tsujimara has been at Hoy+Stark Architects in Tallahassee, Florida, since graduating from the School of Architecture.
Travis received the 2017 William H. Deitrick Service Medal from the North Carolina Chapter of the AIA at the state convention in Wilmington, NC. The medal is presented to an AIA North Carolina member who exhibits extraordinary service to the community, profession or AIA North Carolina. The medal is named in honor of the late William Henley Deitrick, FAIA, a former president of AIA North Carolina.
