SoA Stairs

The SoA invites applicants and prospective applicants to learn more about our program by attending our Open Houses and/or Facility Tours, both of which may be done in person or virtually. These events are opportunities to meet current faculty, staff, and students, and to ask questions about the program.

Undergraduate Program Open House Schedule

Our Fall 2024 in-person Open House coincides with Open Houses held by Undergraduate Admissions and the College of Arts + Architecture, providing prospective applicants with a broad exposure to both campus life and specific academic programs:

For applicants unable to attend our in-person Open Houses (and for applicants to want to discuss our program in more depth), we offer two virtual Open Houses, during which faculty, staff, and students will present an overview of the program and make themselves available for questions:

Pre-Registration for our Virtual Open Houses is recommended, but not required, and may be done using this form.

Graduate Programs Open House Schedule

The schedule of Fall 2024 Open Houses will be announced by the UNC Charlotte Graduate School shortly. The SoA will coordinate its schedule of in-person and virtual open houses around that announcement. Check back here soon!

In-Person Tours

In-person tours of the SoA offer applicants opportunities to see our facilities in Storrs Halls in-action during class time. These 30-minute, student-led tours are conducted throughout the fall semester every-other Friday afternoon at 4:00 pm.

Applicants must pre-register for a specific tour date using this Scheduler to be guaranteed a spot on a preferred date.

Important Notes About Touring the SoA:

  • Students leading the tours must return to class promptly at 4:30; please respect their time and responsibilities.
  • Faculty and staff are unlikely to be available before/after these tours to answer specific questions, which are better asked at our Open Houses or by emailing us.
  • Other than the scheduled opportunities outlined above, the SoA Admission Committee cannot accommodate requests for individual tours or appointments with faculty, staff, or students.
  •  Applicants must pre-register for a specific tour date; the form to reserve a spot will be posted on August 26, 2024.

Admitted Student Events

Applicants who are admitted to the SoA are invited to attend special events designed to help them to make the important decision about where and how to pursue their interest in architecture.

Monthly in-person and virtual events will be scheduled beginning in January, 2025, and admitted students will receive more information shortly after they receive their decision.

In addition, a campus-wide event for all admitted students, during which future 49ers can meet each other and learn more about the University and their intended majors, will be hosted by Undergraduate Admissions and the College of Arts + Architecture in April 2025. The SoA participates in the event, but also offers its own earlier events for a more Architecture-specific experience.
