Dr. Riley Bahin

Dr. Riley Bahin is a low brass musician and music educator currently serving as the Visiting Lecturer of Low Brass at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He received his Doctorate of Musical Arts in Trombone Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Colorado Boulder, his Masters in Music in Euphonium Performance from the University of Georgia, and his Bachelor of Music in Euphonium Performance and Music Education from the University of Michigan.

Dr. Bahin was the Principal Trombone for the Great Falls Symphony in Montana, and has also performed with the Colorado Symphony, Longmont Symphony, and the Colorado Brass. Additionally, as a member of the Ensemble Flatirons Brass Quintet, he participated in the American Brass Quintet Seminar at the Aspen Music Festival, the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, and the International Trumpet Guild Chamber Music Competition. In the summers, Dr. Bahin has participated in the Sewanee Summer Music Festival and the Rafael Mendez Brass Institute.

In addition to performing, Dr. Bahin is a passionate teacher. He has served as a low brass instructor and private lessons teacher at numerous elementary, middle, and high schools throughout the country, including the award winning Centaurus High School Marching Band in Lafayette, CO. His primary musical mentors include Dr. Sterling Tanner, Dr. William Stanley, Dr. Joshua Bynum, David Zerkel, Fritz Kaenzig, and Dr. Benedict Kirby.
