The David R. Ravin School of Architecture (SoA) graduate degree programs are recognized for the outstanding quality of their faculty and students, their commitment to outreach and community involvement, and the quality and extent of resources offered through research labs, classrooms, and studios.
Master of Architecture Professional Degree
The M.Arch. is a NAAB-accredited program that prepares students for professional practice and other career paths in architecture.
Master of Urban Design Degree
The M.U.D. is a one-year post-professional degree that prepares students and professionals to engage complex issues faced by towns and cities across America.
MS in Architecture (MS)
The MS in Architecture (MS) is a post-professional degree, focusing on emerging research critical to the architectural profession. Currently offered concentrations includ Design Computation, Design Science and Building Technology, and Critical Heritage Studies.
The SoA maintains accredited status through the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB), which reviews curriculum, facilities, faculty, and program resources. Graduate study in the David R. Ravin School of Architecture includes not only on-campus coursework, but also travel and research opportunities. Many studios take field trips during the semester to learn from regional and national cities such as Charleston, New York, Chicago, and Portland. The School of Architecture also participates in several international exchange programs and offers summer travel and study programs in Italy, Germany, India, China, Brazil, Japan, and elsewhere to broaden students’ global understanding and further inform their work.
