How did you first become interested in music?
I was first interested in the arts and music when I was in middle school. My family all play instruments, so I felt like it was my obligation to do the same. I then picked up the clarinet and quickly transitioned to the saxophone, and I fell in love with the instrument. I have been playing saxophone constantly ever since and have begun to pick up flute and clarinet as well in both classical and jazz settings.
What kind of career do you hope to have?
I hope to become a middle school director either around the area or in neighboring states and spread my love of music to others.
What is your favorite thing about UNC Charlotte?
I love the professors here at Charlotte. They are always very supportive and continue to challenge me every day.
Do you participate in any community activities or work in the Charlotte arts community?
I am the ensemble manager for the Youth Orchestras of Charlotte.
When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
I love playing disc golf, strategy games, woodworking, and learning about new things.
