Greg Jarrell

Greg Jarrell is a musician and writer. He leads Carolina Social Music Club, a Charlotte-based jazz ensemble, and is a regular performer across many styles and genres, including jazz, classical, rock, and salsa. Greg has performed with many internationally-known acts, including Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, Natalie Cole, The Four Tops, Manhattan Transfer, and others. His book A Riff of Love: Notes on Community and Belonging (Cascade Books, 2018) merges his musical career with his community-based work in housing justice. Greg and his wife Helms have two sons.
